House of Commons welcome mat

June 30, 2006. The House of COMMONS downloads Version 1.1 beta

We at the House have been undergoing some renovations and expansions. Off with the hardhats and workboots!

Our first A.I.R. is crashing at our house for the summer. Geoff Piersol lets us into his room of drawings. Geoff is no stranger to the COMMONS—he designed our cover for Commonsounds 2.0. Willkommen to the HoC as our guest!

Relax and kick back in the big ol’ red chair in our upgraded listening lounge with a video by name on our 13” low-definition, radiation-emitting teevee. O, and just what is Marty the Monkey listening to?

Our plumber finally came to call and our WC is flush with things shiny but sans bidet. No more hopping the fence to pee in the neighbour’s rhododendrons!

But wait, how do you get to the House? Underneath all the goodness lies the COMMONS Transit System (CTS)—it’s there, and it’s worth the trek with a whole other underworld simmering below the surface. The CTS: a kinder, gentler alternative to a Hummer H2, that’s if you can find it. It will always get you home one way or another.

Of course, everyone always ends up in the kitchen...

March 2006. Help us make our House of Commons warmer! No, not that stodgy,
slow-moving House of Bureaucrats in Ottawa, but the new-fangled online
home for the COMMONS: the House of Commons at http://www.thecommons.ca.

Like a trip back to the good ol’ days of yonder - do your laundry, take
comfort in a home cooked meal, poke around the attic and lounge about in
your underpants. So come on down and visit us in the House. We’ll have
ya and a cold beer on the front step.

Clink, clink, clink…

The House of Commons is updated quarterly with new features and new content for old features.
