Oh my. While I am sometimes disillusioned by the state of art in Toronto, there are things that just pull me out of the rough. Was just at Jessica Bradley Art + Projects tonight for Marla Hlady's new show. This image does NOT do it justice! You must see this show.

After a residency in Iceland, we get to see the treats that Ms. Hlady has up her Scandanavian-tinged sleeve. See, this is what sound art should be and very often isn't. Yes! Sound art can be interesting and just as fun to experience as it is to make! More importantly, sound art can be drawings...and goshdarnnit, everyone loves drawings. I hope.
